Priory and the Knights are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Priory Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the King's Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Eastside College Prep typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Priory proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 59-55 win over the Panthers. The win was just what Priory needed coming off of a 66-40 defeat in their prior contest.
Priory found their leader in underclassman Teddy Xanthopoulos, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jai Georedette, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, King's Academy put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Crystal Springs Uplands. Winning may never get old, but King's Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Bryce Sherman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hughey, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Priory's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for King's Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Priory ended up a good deal behind the Knights in their previous matchup back in January, losing 65-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of King's Academy's Xavier Barnett, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Now that Priory knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
