Baseball Recap: Dixie County Has No Trouble Against P.K. Yonge

After only one run in their last matchup, Dixie County made sure to put some runs up on the board against P.K. Yonge on Friday. The Bears put the hurt on the Blue Wave with a sharp 15-5 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Blue Wave recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Joel Lord and Mason Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Lord fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3, while Jones scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gray Wampler, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Dixie County's record is now 7-12. As for P.K. Yonge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Dixie County will be playing at home against St. John Paul II at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for P.K. Yonge, they will venture away from home to challenge Bradford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
