Prince George's County 4A recap October 22, 2013
Flowers was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Northwestern. The Jaguars came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
Eleanor Roosevelt was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to sixth in Prince George's County 4A. The Raiders vanquished Parkdale 42-0 earlier in the week.
Wise's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Isaiah Black threw for 163 and 1 touchdown and Micah Till had 112 yards receiving. On the ground Adam Gillis Jr. contributed 83 yards. Anfernee Perry helped Wise's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 33 yards.
The Pumas' dynamic duo of Black and Till proved to be unstoppable against Suitland, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Perry helped Wise's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 33 yards.
Laurel's Mason Duckett and Cailen Walker have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Duckett has thrown for 1,071 yards this season, while Walker has 18 catches for 395 yards. Gillis Jr. from Wise leads the league in rushing with 509 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Rams and Flowers. Suitland enters the game ranked 14th in the state, while Michael Mayo's team ranks 22nd.
One of Prince George's County 4A's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Spartans and DaLawn Parrish's team face off next week.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ed Shields' team takes on the Jaguars. The Rams have allowed 60 points this season, while Flowers has given up 28.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Suitland beat the Pumas 21-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Rams.
