The Lamar County Trojans entered their tilt with the Heard County Braves with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lamar County escaped with a win on Friday against the Braves by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shakiria Foster, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 rebounds. Foster has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more points the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla Watts, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Lamar County's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Heard County, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
Lamar County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Temple will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Trojans are ranked 110th). As for Heard County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crawford County is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
