The Franklin Yellowjackets and the University Prep Panthers will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Franklin has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while University Prep will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Franklin, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-39 loss to Calaveras. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Franklin in their matchups with Calaveras: they've now lost six in a row.
University Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Las Plumas with a sharp 75-52 victory on Friday.
University Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Scott Steffan out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Steffan set a new season high mark in rebounds with 13. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Huegel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for University Prep, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
