The Acadiana Christian Lions will square off against the John Paul the Great Academy Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Acadiana Christian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over First Baptist Christian. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Wes Landry made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Acadiana Christian let Lane Parks and Isaiah Burch run wild. Parks went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Burch scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Parks is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Judice, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Acadiana Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, John Paul the Great Academy got the win against ARC Academy on Friday by a conclusive 13-2.
Like Acadiana Christian, John Paul the Great Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Maximus Stewart. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stewart also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because John Paul the Great Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Stewart was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, John Paul the Great Academy got a massive performance out of Luke Salvatierra, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Salvatierra also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Jonah Petitt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Acadiana Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for John Paul the Great Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Acadiana Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .441. However, it's not like John Paul the Great Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
