After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Decatur, the Morristown Yellow Jackets were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top against Edinburgh by a score of 52-41. That's another feather in the cap for Morristown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
DDanika Rutledge was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Jayla Keithley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Edinburgh lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bella Turner, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Turner scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kenna Streeval, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Morristown's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-12. As for Edinburgh, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morristown will challenge Hauser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edinburgh, they will head out on the road to challenge South Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Decatur focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
