York-Adams I recap Oct. 3, 2012
William Penn moved up to 244 from 328 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in York-Adams I. The Bearcats climbed the ranks as a result of a 38-21 win over the Bearcats.
Spring Grove and Northeastern played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Spring Grove eventually emerging with a 10-7 victory.
Dan Althoff was the best wideout in the league this week as Red Lion defeated Kennard-Dale. Althoff racked up four receptions for 65 yards. Seth Haight helped Red Lion's passing attack out by catching three balls for 59 yards.
Corey Hartz threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns. He went eight-14 with zero interceptions.
Dillon Thomas was the most productive running back in York-Adams I this week. He ran for 187 yards on 20 carries as South Western bested the Rams. Teammate Camden Brown added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.
Blake Cahill provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Red Lion topped Kennard-Dale. He completed nine passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 57 yards.
Central York's Hartz and Marquis Fells have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hartz has thrown for 948 yards this season, while Fells, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 17 catches for 398 yards. The Mustangs' Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 657.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Rockets take on the Panthers. Spring Grove is in first place, while Central York is in third place.
South Western took down Susquehannock 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Thomas caught two passes for 27 yards in the win.
