Wellsboro is 9-1 against Towanda since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Wellsboro Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Towanda Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. Wellsboro is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, the stars were shining brightly for Wellsboro in a 46-32 victory over Athens.
Meanwhile, Towanda was the victim of a rough 67-42 loss at the hands of Muncy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Towanda can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while Muncy is ranked 170th).
Wellsboro now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Towanda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Wellsboro took their victory against Towanda when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 61-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wellsboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
