 On Taravella's side,  Mikael Ghann looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks). Ghann has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in six consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  JC Martinez was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  AJ Perry, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI.
 The First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Taravella, the  win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The First Academy will  take on Windermere Prep at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
