The Jefferson Academy Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Liberty Common 70-24 on the road. Jefferson Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Elsa Nygren, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and eight steals. That's the first time this season that she posted eight or more assists. Emma Parker was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Jefferson Academy pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.33 points. As for Liberty Common, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Academy will challenge Colorado Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Colorado Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. Liberty Common will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sterling at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
