The third road game was the charm for Hand, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over Fairfield Prep on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Fitch waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 73-67 win over Stonington. Given Fitch's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Stonington is ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fitch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Goode out in front who scored 29 points along with five rebounds. Goode has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvon "JJ" Robinson, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Hand's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Fitch, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.
