The St. Andrew's Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 42-32 to Cross Schools. While losing is never fun, St. Andrew's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 378th in Georgia, while Cross Schools is ranked 46th in South Carolina).
Despite the loss, St. Andrew's still got an impressive performance from Claire Fleming, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Cross Schools' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from PJ Benson, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals. The contest was Benson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reyannah Maldonado, who scored 10 points.
St. Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cross Schools, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
St. Andrew's will head out on the road to face off against New Hampstead at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cross Schools, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Beaufort Academy at 6:00 p.m.
