The Smyrna Bulldogs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 74-73 victory over Stewarts Creek. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tyreque Mccarver was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Jalylle Batey-roberts was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Smyrna's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Stewarts Creek, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Smyrna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Stewarts Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cookeville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
