The Centerpoint Knights posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Genoa Central 50-30. Given Centerpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Genoa Central is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alyssa Hewitt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hope Hargrove, who scored five points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Centerpoint has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Genoa Central, they bumped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centerpoint will face off against Bismarck at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bismarck comes in on five and Centerpoint on seven. As for Genoa Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Harmony Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
