While losing is never fun, Normal West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while MacArthur is ranked 37th).
Normal West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mike Zaleski, who scored 13 points. Nate Moore was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Normal West has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for MacArthur, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normal West will take on Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manual has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 512 points over their last eight matchups. As for MacArthur, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Decatur Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
