The Englewood Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. The game between them and Yulee wasn't particularly close, with Englewood falling 62-48. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Englewood of the 60-56 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Englewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nathaniel Moore. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Moore is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Thomas, who scored nine points.
Yulee had a senior duo take command as Christopher Lemon scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals and Ace Walker scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. Walker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Alex Naumow was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Englewood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Yulee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Englewood will face off against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westside is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Rams a seven-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Yulee, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Nassau aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since January 18th.
