M.L. King is 1-6 against Arabia Mountain since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The M.L. King Lions will head out on the road to take on the Arabia Mountain Rams at 7:30 p.m. M.L. King knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Arabia Mountain likes a good challenge.
Even though M.L. King has not done well against Lithonia recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. M.L. King came out on top against Lithonia by a score of 61-52. Given M.L. King's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Lithonia is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead M.L. King to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr., who scored 22 points along with three steals. Ruzvidzo jr. has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Bowers, who scored 17 points.
Arabia Mountain suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 77-53 walloping at the hands of Tucker. Arabia Mountain has not had much luck with Tucker recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
M.L. King has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Arabia Mountain, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.
M.L. King didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Arabia Mountain in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-57 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for M.L. King since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
