The Chase County Bulldogs were the 53-41 winner over the Council Grove Braves when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Chase County took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Council Grove. Chase County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Council Grove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brycen Palmquist out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Kolby Rose was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
Chase County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Council Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chase County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Peabody-Burns at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Peabody-Burns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday. As for Council Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Halstead at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Halstead is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
