Varnum had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Sasakwa Vikings. The Whippets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Varnum's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sasakwa, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-7.

Varnum didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-8 victory against Wynnewood on the 31st. As for Sasakwa, they will square off against Quinton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
