Pillager came into Thursday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Bears a 14-0 shutout on Thursday. The Huskies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Woidyla, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Rudrud, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Pillager was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Pillager picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pillager will square off against Osakis at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, they will venture away from home to square off against Browerville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
