The New Kent Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Grafton by a score of 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (59), New Kent still had to take the loss.
New Kent lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Will Ross, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Ross posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Diggs, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
New Kent's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Grafton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
New Kent will head out on the road to take on Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grafton, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
