Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crossroads Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Watkins, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 24 points along with six assists and six steals. The contest was Watkins' third in a row with at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayson Baskerville, who went 7-for-8 en route to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
Crossroads Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Sandhills Classical Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt an 80-29 defeat at the hands of Cape Fear Christian Academy last Thursday.
Crossroads Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
