Park Hill South was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Park Hill. The Panthers came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
Central took down Oak Park 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Park Hill South's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Carson Reid threw for 239 and 2 touchdowns and Nick Griffith had 155 yards receiving. On the ground Ronnie Bertelsmeyer contributed 105 yards. Jake Springer helped Park Hill South's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.
Bertelsmeyer was the most successful running back in Suburban - Red this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 105 yards as Mark Simcox's team beat the Trojans. Derrick Cook also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
6-foot-5 quarterback Thomas Ganaden of Lee's Summit West is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,742. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Griffith. The Park Hill South star has 40 catches for 800 yards.
The Panthers' Bertelsmeyer needs only 82 yards against Kearney next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 140 carries Bertelsmeyer has put up 918 yards this year.
The Indians led the league in scoring this week by notching 47 points on the Northmen.
