Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dwight). They managed a 68-62 victory over the Newark Norsemen on Tuesday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 63-59 win the Norsemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Newark lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dylan Long, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 24 points along with eight boards and five assists. That was a full 38.7% of Newark's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Kulbartz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Dwight now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Newark, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dwight will take on Henry-Senachwine in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
