The Shelby Valley Wildcats and the Tug Valley Panthers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Shelby Valley's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Thursday, Shelby Valley didn't have too much trouble with the Jaguars at home as they won 58-44.
After soaring to a 39-point win in their last game, Tug Valley came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Tolsia by a score of 48-46. Tug Valley has not had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bailee Hall, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haven Deskins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Shelby Valley has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Tug Valley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Shelby Valley strolled past the Panthers in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 49-33. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hall, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Shelby Valley still be able to contain Hall? There's only one way to find out.
