The Canyon View Falcons lost against the Carbon Dinos back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Canyon View fell 66-53 to Carbon. Canyon View has not had much luck with Carbon recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Canyon View lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Maya Nichols, who scored 17 points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Nichols posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Emery Miles, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Canyon View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Carbon had a senior duo take command as Amiah Timothy scored 25 points along with eight assists and five rebounds and Madison Orth scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Timothy continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Curtis, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Canyon View's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Carbon, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon View will take on Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carbon, they will head out on the road to challenge North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
