Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Kerman's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Kerman unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Hanford West Huskies by a score of 3-2. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

While Kerman ultimately came up short, they really made Hanford West work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 24-26, 26-28, 15-10.

Anya Bakholdin paced Kerman's offense, picking up 25 kills. Bakholdin got some help from Rebekah Evseff and her 32 assists. Vanessa Quinto controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kerman's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 20-8. As for Hanford West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kerman is set to challenge their familiar foe Exeter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hanford West will square off against rival Sierra Pacific at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
