Northern Nash is 0-10 against Rocky Mount since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northern Nash Knights will head out on the road to take on the Rocky Mount Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. Northern Nash will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Rocky Mount is ranked 75th).
Northern Nash suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Nash Central on the road and fell 62-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northern Nash in their matchups with Nash Central: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mount came up short against Franklinton on Friday and fell 58-49.
The losing side was boosted by McKinley Battle, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keysha Mizzell, who scored four points along with six blocks and three steals.
Northern Nash has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Rocky Mount, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Northern Nash was dealt a bruising 68-10 loss at the hands of Rocky Mount in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northern Nash was down 58-7.
