The Jennings County Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Greenwood Woodmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Jennings County put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 46-21 margin over Edgewood. Jennings County didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Branden Braun continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 287 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Greenwood's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They breezed by Connersville on the road to the tune of 49-20. Given Greenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Connersville is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brock Riddle went supernova for Greenwood, throwing for 259 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Tanner Crouch did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Jennings County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Greenwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 180.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
