After flying high against the New Bern Bears on Friday, the New Hanover Wildcats came back down to earth. New Hanover suffered a rough 68-48 defeat at the hands of North Mecklenburg on Saturday.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Stanley, who scored 17 points. Tamorie Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
New Hanover's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for North Mecklenburg, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
New Hanover will head out on the road to face off against Ashley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Mecklenburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Mecklenburg comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
