El Reno can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-24 win over Altus at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for El Reno.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Reno to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Fisher, who rushed for 126 yards and four touchdowns on only five carries. Caleb Blackwolf was another major influence, as he rushed for 126 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, Carl Albert put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Piedmont with points to spare, taking the game 38-24. Given Carl Albert's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked third, while Piedmont is ranked 30th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carl Albert's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Sperry, who threw for 312 yards and a touchdown while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Trystan Haynes also helped out with an impressive 157 receiving yards.
El Reno has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Carl Albert, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
El Reno was dealt a bruising 42-7 defeat at the hands of Carl Albert in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can El Reno avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
