The United South Central Rebels gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They skirted past LeRoy-Ostrander 50-48. This was payback for United South Central, who suffered a 73-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why LeRoy-Ostrander lost, one person who can't be blamed is Benita Nolt. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. Nolt scored a full 47.9% of LeRoy-Ostrander's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Olson, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
United South Central's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
United South Central will look to defend their home court on Friday against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at 7:15 p.m. LeRoy-Ostrander will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Kingsland at 7:15 p.m. on December 4th.
