Shadow Mountain has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Shadow Mountain's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Last Friday, Shadow Mountain got themselves on the board against Kofa, but Kofa never followed suit. They blew past the Kings 51-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Shadow Mountain, who have now won four matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Sean Collins had a dynamite game for Shadow Mountain, rushing for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Collins' longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards. Another player making a difference was Joey Meyn, who threw for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 65 points the game before, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy were a bit more limited in their game two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Scottsdale Christian Academy on the road and fell 46-6. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-0.
Shadow Mountain's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Kofa and 2-6 Valley Lutheran (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 29.2% over those games). Scottsdale Preparatory Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
