The Bradenton Christian Panthers typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Parrish Community Bulls proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 61-51 win over the Panthers. The victory was familiar territory for Parrish Community who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Mary Portwood, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Decker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Parrish Community pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Bradenton Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Parrish Community and Land O' Lakes will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Land O' Lakes is ranked 128th, while Parrish Community is ranked 118th). Bradenton Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Freedom at 11:30 a.m. on December 30th.
