Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Augusta Southeastern turned things around against Seymour on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Indians. The Suns' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Griffin Tippey
Griffin Tippey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Augusta Southeastern is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-6 otherwise. Tippey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Brady McClintock was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aundre Roberts, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Augusta Southeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Mendon Unity earned a 7-4 victory over Hamilton/Warsaw on Tuesday.
Mendon Unity's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Simon Rabe, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Avery Frese was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Mendon Unity's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Augusta Southeastern, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
