Baseball Recap: Stagg Wins Going Away Against Mcnair

Stagg won the last time they faced McNair and things went their way on Friday too. The Delta Kings blew past the Eagles 16-5. Considering the Delta Kings have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sebastian Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Stagg got a massive performance out of Rocco Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Zachary Glatz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Stagg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Stagg and bumps their season record up to 14-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for McNair, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stagg will challenge rival Tokay at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, McNair is set to square off against their familiar foe Chavez at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
