Trico had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cobden Appleknockers on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on 13 straight.
Trico easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-4.
Whitney Lovel paced Trico's offense, picking up 12 kills. Lovel got some help from Molly Rathert and her 13 assists. Rylie Robinson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Trico's record is now 31-6. As for Cobden, they now have a losing record of 16-17.
Coming up, Trico will square off against Edwards County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cobden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
