Basketball Recap: Luke Rice Key Part of Team Effort in Miners Win

Park City lost to Spanish Fork back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Miners walked away with a 71-59 victory over the Dons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.

Park City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Rice out in front who went 9-for-12 en route to 22 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Rice's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bridger Lapine, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 14 points and seven assists.

Park City's record is now 3-1. As for Spanish Fork, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Park City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Miners' defense better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 56.8 points per game this season. As for Spanish Fork, they will face off against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
