The Floyd Central Highlanders will face off against the Ballard Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Floyd Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Floyd Central's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Madison. Considering the Highlanders have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Elise Coleman, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addy Ware, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Henry County typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Ballard proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 2-0. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Emery Schuster, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Henry County off the board. Schuster has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ballard's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Payton Downey, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Myla Jones was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Floyd Central's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Ballard, their win bumped their record up to 18-11.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Floyd Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Ballard struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Floyd Central came up short against Ballard in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, falling 5-2. Can the Highlanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
