Word of God Academy won the last time they faced Varsity Opponent and things went their way on Monday too. Word of God Academy blew past Varsity Opponent 16-6. Considering the Force have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Leah Daugherty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season.
