On Monday, Telesis Prep had to suffer through a rough 62-17 loss at the hands of Thunderbird Adventist Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Telesis Prep has scored all season.
Thunderbird Adventist Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gideon Orellana, who scored 19 points. The game was Orellana's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Patrick Riffel was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Telesis Prep and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Telesis Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Thunderbird Adventist Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paradise Valley Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 23, 2024.
