Middle Early College couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Lockport by a score of 69-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Health Sciences Charter sidestepped St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute for a 51-49 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Health Sciences Charter.
Health Sciences Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Moye, who scored seven points along with ten assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jakari Lott, who scored 14 points.
Middle Early College's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Health Sciences Charter, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Middle Early College lost to Health Sciences Charter on the road by a decisive 80-66 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Can Middle Early College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
