The biggest upset of the week belonged to Redwater, who took down 315th ranked Mt. Vernon, 34-7.
The Dragons moved up to 460 from 545 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region II District 8. Redwater climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Tigers 34-7.
Mt. Vernon's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Alston Sam has thrown for 711 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Sakorey Chandler has 28 catches for 442 yards. Kris Ables leads the league in rushing with 590 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place New Boston takes on second place Mt. Vernon. Last week, New Boston topped Prairiland, while Mt. Vernon fell to Tommy Graf's team.
