Basketball Recap: Andres Wright's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Atlanta Classical Academy over Mt. Zion

Atlanta Classical Academy lost against Mt. Zion back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Zion Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Eagles are ranked 128th).

Atlanta Classical Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andres Wright, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. Wright's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Aleck Carter was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Atlanta Classical Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Mt. Zion, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Atlanta Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-47 win against Elite Scholars Academy on the 13th. As for Mt. Zion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 90-56 victory against Haralson County on the 14th.
