The Rim of the World Fighting Scots had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Bloomington 53-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rim of the World also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Rim of the World's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Urquiza, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Urquiza continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Paxton, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Rim of the World pushed their record up to 4-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Bloomington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rim of the World will take on Carter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomington, they will head out on the road to face off against Vista del Lago at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Vista del Lago's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
