The Page Sand Devils will face off against the Show Low Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Page's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Ganado with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sand Devils.
Ganado's batters probably weren't too happy with Micheal Gonzales, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up zero walks). Gonzales has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kevin Sam, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Cummings, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Page always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Show Low made easy work of Holbrook on Thursday and carried off a 10-1 win. The Cougars have beaten the Roadrunners the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Roadrunners has come to flipping the script.
Easton Hatch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
On the hitting side, Andres Chavez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Karter Alexander was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Page's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Show Low, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Page has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Show Low struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Page might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Show Low in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Will the Sand Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
