AVON, Ohio - After swapping the lead three times,
Avon (Ohio) took the lead for the win when they threw a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Midview (Grafton, Ohio) 45-28.
The Eagles led 17-14 at halftime, but the Middies recaptured the lead on a touchdown pass by
Cody Callaway to
Logan Bolin with 10:00 remaining in the third.
Avon expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored three times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
With the win the Eagles extended their winning streak to five games. Avon defeated Lakewood 52-7 last week.
When the two teams played each other last season, Avon came away with a 14-10 victory.
The loss comes after Midview defeated Rocky River 42-27 last week.
Avon (5-0) will play a West Shore game against Elyria Catholic next week, while Midview (3-2) will take on North Ridgeville also in a West Shore game.
