Othello faced WF West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Huskies blew past the Bearcats 14-8. Considering the Huskies have won 12 matchups by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Xzyyvn Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching one inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Martinez was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news, Othello let  Zayvier Olazcon and  Rjay Garza run wild. Olazcon  went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  RBI and two  runs, while  Garza  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with four  runs and two  RBI. Those  four  runs gave  Garza a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ryan Martinez, who  got on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  RBI.
 Othello was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive  contests.
Othello is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for WF West, their loss dropped their record down to 24-4-1.
As of now, neither Othello nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
