Baseball Recap: Fremont Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Fremont lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Weber, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Silverwolves blew past the Warriors 13-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Silverwolves have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Jones was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Owen Simkins and Kurt Dahl did most of the damage at the plate: Simkins went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one double, while Dahl went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Dahl has posted since back in March.

Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Fremont pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Weber, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Fremont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
